For many years I’ve been a keen supporter of Copland House, the organisation charged with continuing Aaron Copland’s legacy that is located at his last residence in upstate New York. I was hoping to make a sort of pilgrimage there this year as a 50th Birthday present to myself but all thoughts of that have been put on hold because of the Covid-19 Pandemic.
Quite by coincidence, a week or so ago I was really delighted to receive a wonderful short video in my inbox. The mini documentary below provides a lovely tour around the iconic Copland House at Rock Hill. It certainly is the next best thing to being there and I hope you too enjoy the chance to be shown around what continues to be an amazing and inspring creative space for composers and musicians.
Many thanks to Michael Boriskin and Ian Murdoch of Copland House for allowing me to share this with you. Picture of Copland House taken by Marion Gold and reproduced with permission.
